Hydrogen-powered EV charger deployed at California Mobility Center

GenCell has deployed a hydrogen fuel cell generator to provide fast electric vehicle (EV) charging at the California Mobility Center’s (CMC) Sacramento facility.

The EVOX system combines 240kWh of fuel cells with 372kWh of lithium-ion batteries, controlled by proprietary AI distributed energy resource management system (DERMS) software to offer grid-independent power.

Orville Thomas, CEO of CMC, said like many areas of California, the Sacramento site does not have sufficient power to provide fast charging from the grid.
