Alstom’s hydrogen-powered Coradia iLint train has made its debut on the Railway Research Institute’s test track in Żmigród, near Wrocław in Poland.
Sharing the news on Wednesday (June 23), Alstom said its team will present the train to a variety of local stakeholders, including regional operators and transport authorities, to highlight the potential train’s potential for sustainable transportation.
Believed to be the world’s first and only operational passenger train powered by hydrogen fuel cells, the Coradia iLint is designed specifically for use on non-electrified lines to enable clean and sustainable train operations.
