Hydrogen-powered buses to transport children and miners in Queensland, Australia

Hydrogen will soon be fuelling buses in Queensland, Australia, that will take children to and from school and miners to work following a $2.7m investment from the Palaszczuk Government.

Revealed today (April 20), the local bus company Emerald Coaches would receive the funds and integrate hydrogen buses into the day-to-day operations of the company.

The project will see Emerald Coaches integrate two hydrogen fuel cell electric buses into its fleet of 120 diesel buses by mid-2023 in the Bowen Basin.
