Hydrogen Optimized has been awarded $3.5m to automate and expand its RuggedCell™ water electrolyser capacity in Ontario, Canada, to scale up hydrogen production.
The repayable contribution comes from the Government of Canada, through the Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario (FedDev Ontario) and will go towards an $11m project to increase electrolyser production at its Owen Sound facility.
Hydrogen Optimized’s RuggedCell™ technology are the core components of the company’s large-scale clean hydrogen production plants, and with the investment the facility will now be able to manufacture 5,000 units per year.
