Hydrogen NI has launched today (May 11) to support the growth of the clean hydrogen economy in Northern Ireland.
The group has identified hydrogen as a rapidly emerging sustainable energy solution and is expecting it to play a central role in reducing the nations reliance on fossil fuels, particularly those currently used in the heating and heavy transport sectors.
This presents a unique opportunity for Northern Ireland to take advantage of its world-leading levels of renewable electricity by utilising electrolysis to turn water into hydrogen and oxygen.
