A hydrogen-powered ambulance has been selected to receive a share of £20m ($28m) UK Government funding to support innovative zero-emission transportation projects.
The hydrogen ambulance project will develop an FCEV/BEV hybrid emergency ambulance, purpose-designed from the ground up, overcoming inherent limitations of existing ICE vehicle conversions.
The zero-emission ambulance with a hydrogen extender could see hydrogen’s potential utilised in the emergency sector and will be used to decarbonise this area of transportation.
