Session one, Repowering the EU, of today’s (June 16) FT Live Hydrogen Summit in London kicked off a day of discussing, beginning with the ambitious goals of the European Commission’s REPowerEU Plan, and how the continent can wean itself off Russian gas.
The session heard from Jeroen Kies, Head of Project Finance and Nordic, International and Structured Finance Department at SMBC, Máximo Miccinilli, Senior Vice-President and Head of Energy and Climate for Fleishman-Hillard, Julien Rolland, and Head of Power and Renewables at Trafigura.
Neil Hume, Natural Resources Editor at the Financial Times kicked off the discussion by asking the panel whether the EU’s targets are a little too far out of reach.
