Up to 1,500 radio tower sites in Germany could get their emergency back-up power from hydrogen fuel cells as part of a new deal between SFC Energy and telecommunications equipment supplier adKor.
SFC Energy has received a framework contract from cooperation partner adKor for the delivery of hydrogen fuel cells for radio tower sites in several federal states of Germany.
Canadian clean energy solutions provider Ballard will supply an initial 500 FCgen®-102ACS fuel cell stacks which will be integrated into adKor’s Jupiter backup power systems for the deployment at the radio tower sites.
H2 View understands the contract runs until the end of 2021 and has a total order volume of approximately €1.8-5.3m, depending on installation and commissioning by the federal states.
