The Hydrogen Flight Alliance (HFA) has today (June 8) been launched by Australian aviation and green hydrogen players at Brisbane Airport, with eyes on commercial hydrogen-powered flight from 2026.
Made up of Stralis Aircraft, Skytrans Airlines, Brisbane Airport, Gladstone Airport, Aviation Australia, BOC, H2 Energy Company, Griffith University and Central Queensland University, the HFA hopes to ensure Australia plays a leading role in the Net Zero aviation future.
The initial focus will be on supporting the nation’s first commercial emissions-free hydrogen-powered flight between Brisbane Airport and Gladstone Airport in 2026, a distance of around 230 nautical miles.
