Alongside seven other organisations, Hydrogen Europe, has called for ambitious sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) targets in the anticipated ReFuelEU Aviation.
In a letter to the Swedish European Council Presidency, permanent Council representatives, Commissioner Adina Valean, Rapporteur Bauzá Díaz, and the Chair of the European Parliament Transport Committee, the organisations said SAFs, including aviation biofuels and synthetic aviation fuels are “indispensable” in reaching EU climate goals.
Ahead of an upcoming trialogue of negotiations on ReFuelEU Aviation – a package expected to set obligations on fuel users to distribute SAFs – the European Biodiesel Board, ECFD, eFuel Alliance, EWABA, CO2 Value Europe, Methanol Institute, VDMA, and Hydrogen Europe lodged their support.
