A hydrogen boiler solution pioneered by Hydrogen Technologies is set to be implemented into a whiskey distillery in Scotland as part of government-funded programme helping distilleries get into the spirit of going green.
The Jericho Energy Ventures subsidiary today (14th April) said its patented zero-emissions, hydrogen-based dynamic combustion chamber (DCC) boiler solution was included in a UK Government feasibility study, dubbed Project HyLaddie, for renowned Bruichladdich Distillery, located on the island of Islay.
The £9m ($12m) fund is part of a scheme that will attempt to decarbonise the whiskey industry which currently relies heavily on fuel oil to meet its steam and heating demand.
