Hydrogen and ammonia production from thermal energy planned

Zero-emission thermal energy for hydrogen and ammonia production is to be explored under a new agreement announced today (June 9).

Innovative Terrestrial Energy and KBR are set to collaborate and analyse the integration of Terrestrial’s Integral Molten Salt Reactor (IMSR) nuclear cogeneration technology to produce green hydrogen and ammonia.

The IMSR plant supplies zero-emission thermal energy at 585o C for direct use in industrial processes and for on-site electric power generation.
