Petrochemicals giant INEOS will increase the use of hydrogen in its chemical processes and power plants as it looks to cut emissions and become climate-neutral at its Antwerp sites by 2050.
The company said it sees hydrogen technology as a “gamechanger” and a “core part” of its future business.
Hans Casier CEO of INEOS Belgium, said, “We have a clear, achievable roadmap to effectively contribute to a reduction of emissions from our sites in Antwerp which includes changing to green power and clean heat, reusing hydrogen and CO2, further investment in electrification and where appropriate switching to recycled or bio-feedstock.”
