HVS targets global markets in hydrogen truck deal with Hybot

Hydrogen Vehicle Systems (HVS) will potentially import its products into China and other international markets after agreeing on a deal with Guangzhou Hybot Technology.

Under a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), the focus will be on promoting hydrogen fuel cell trucks in the UK and EU through product, technical and service collaboration, with the Chinese company handling the technical aspects.

Together, the two companies are expected to build and share a supply chain system based on Hybot’s supply chain, with the aim of cost-effectiveness and reduced development time.

Moving forward, the agreement will ensure HVS and Hybot explore further opportunities such as joint ventures, technology sharing and research initiatives.

“This collaboration aligns perfectly with our mission to lead in the introduction of zero-emission fuel cell trucks,” claimed Jaward Khursheed, CEO of HVS. “Together, we will develop a solution that meets the needs of operators looking to decarbonise their fleets.”

Sun Ying, Hybot Founder, added, “Partnering with HVS enhances our ability to deliver cutting-edge global logistics solutions that are environmentally friendly and highly efficient. This MOU is a testament to our shared commitment to innovation and sustainability.”

Speaking to H2 View in April (2024), HVS’ Chief Commercial Officer (CCO), John McLeister, stated the company is set to be a part of the hydrogen transportation “revolution.”

He said, “First we’re testing our vehicles, it’s going to be the first vehicle of its type – from the ground up a fully designed fuel cell electric vehicle (FCEV). The technology needs no introduction, it’s been tested and proven in a number of applications, not just on trucks, but also bus, coach etc.”
