The Canadian Infrastructure Bank (CIB) is backing HTEC’s plans to build out hydrogen refuelling stations and by-product hydrogen liquefaction with a CAD $337m ($247m) loan.
Hoped to expand the Vancouver-based firm’s operations in British Columbia and Alberta, HTEC plans to build and operate a network of up to 20 refuelling stations under its supply chain initiative H2 Gateway.
14 of the 20 new stations are intended to support the refuelling of up to 300 heavy-duty vehicles per days, with the CAD $900m ($660m) programme designed to drive the adoption of hydrogen as a transport fuel.
