Hydrogen Refuelling Stations (HRS) has received an order to develop a “very high capacity” hydrogen station for a “major player in the sector.”
Under the agreement, which the company says is a “first in Europe for an infrastructure of this scale,” HRS will manufacture and install a six-pump station capable of dispensing four tonnes per day, or 160kg of hydrogen per hour.
The station will be installed in a “major European urban centre” in the first half of 2026.
However, the French infrastructure provider has not revealed who the customer is or where the station will be deployed.
The company secured the contract through a competitive bidding process, attributing its selection to its “proven expertise and ability to design innovative, high-performance solutions.”
Hassen Rachedi, Founder and CEO of HRS, said, “This first order of our HRS160 is an important milestone for HRS, rewarding the commitment of our teams to developing ever more efficient stations adapted to the growing needs of the market.”
The new station will fall under the EU’s Alternative Fuel Infrastructure Regulation (AFIR), which mandates the deployment of hydrogen refuelling stations for both light and heavy-duty vehicles in all urban nodes and at least every 200km along the core Trans-European Transport Network (TEN-T) by 2030.

The adopted legislation requires each station to have a minimum capacity of one tonne per day with at least 700 bar dispensing pressure.
