Howden has signed a contract with European Energy to provide its hydrogen compressors to deliver pure green hydrogen as a feedstock for e-methanol production to fuel maritime transportation.
Announced on Tuesday (June 14), European Energy will utilise Howden’s hydrogen compressors at its large-scale commercial e-methanol production facility boasting a 50MW electrolyser to generate hydrogen, which is still in development.
H2 View understands European Energy will supply shipping giant, Maersk with e-methanol to fuel its shipping fleet, with 200,000-300,000 tonnes of the cleaner fuel by 2025.
