Germany is relying on the right mix of renewables and hydrogen to transform its energy market. It is important that the new government seizes the momentum, making Germany a pioneer.
Germany has set its sights high and that’s a good thing because the challenges ahead are enormous.
These have not diminished following the ruling of the Federal Constitutional Court in March 2021. Namely, the First Senate ruled that Germany’s climate protection law is partially unconstitutional. The German cabinet then put together a package of measures in May 2021. The aim is to reduce CO2 emissions in earlier stages than originally planned. Germany goal is to become climate-neutral as early as 2045.
