Hydrogéne de France (HDF) Energy has inaugurated its fuel cell manufacturing plant located in Blanquefort, France.
The plant will be capable of developing 1MW+ fuel cells, which are expected to serve the decarbonisation of heavy maritime and rail mobility, along with the production of electricity for public power grids.
Up to 80% of the proton exchange membrane (PEM) fuel cell tech will be exported from the facility, which is anticipated to complete its industrial process this year. In 2025, the pre-production phase will begin, before industrialisation from 2026 onwards – with the aim of producing 1GW per year by 2030.
