Australian technology company Hazer Group has successfully completed an $8.4m share placement for its biogas to green hydrogen production facility – a major milestone in scaling up the technology.
Hazer’s Commercial Demonstration Project (CDP) will see the company produce low-emission hydrogen and graphite from sewage at a wastewater treatment plant in Munster.
The three-year operation at Woodman Point Wastewater Treatment Plant will produce around 100 tonnes of fuel-grade hydrogen and 380 tonnes of graphite each year, with the potential for expansion.
In a statement, Hazer said the net proceeds from the placement will be used to construct the CDP and support its ongoing research and development programme into applications for the company’s graphite advanced carbon material, business development activities and general working capital.
