Hazer, Mitsui extend MoU to explore graphite markets from hydrogen production

Australia’s Hazer Group and Mitsui & Co. will continue to explore potential markets for Hazer’s graphite produced from its methane pyrolysis hydrogen technology.

The pair have extended a non-binding Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), originally signed in 2022, where the pair agreed to conduct market surveys of applications for the graphite in steelmaking and chemicals industries through Mitsui’s network.

Extended by 12 months until November 15, 2025, the pair will now explore production evaluation, with testing of larger samples from Hazer’s demonstration plant in Perth, as well as conversations with prospective offtakers.
