A Loughborough, UK project researching hydrogen storage for vehicles is among 22 studies set to benefit from a share of £30m ($41m) government funding.
Pioneered by Haydale Composite Solutions, the project will assess the suitability of the company’s promising lightweight, low permeability storage tank, which could help to unlock the pathway to hydrogen propulsion.
Storing hydrogen requires high-strength durable containers for safe operation in vehicles.
The funding comes as part of wider plans announced today (30th March) by the UK Government backing future research into hydrogen vehicles, battery technology and the electric vehicle supply chain.
