HAV Hydrogen has received NOK 12.4m ($1.18m) to build, test and certify a containerised hydrogen energy system for ships.
The company will develop a full-scale prototype of its Zero Emission Pod, which was Approved in Principle (AiP) by independent energy expert DNV last year (2023).
The pod is a complete deck house in which several fuel cells are mounted together with a complete hydrogen distribution system, control and safety system including emergency shutdown system, ventilation system, cooling system, and DC/DC power distribution system.
