Hangyang has successfully commissioned its “Hydrogen Comprehensive Energy Island Project” in China, which is reportedly capable of supplying nine tonnes per day of hydrogen.
Located in the Shanxi Province, the hub will provide electric charging, liquefied natural gas (LNG) refuelling and hydrogen refuelling to support fleets of Jinnan Steel and nearby factories. Hangyang has said it will be capable of refuelling over 400 hydrogen-powered heavy-duty trucks.
The hydrogen, reported to have a purity level of 99.9%, is extracted from coke oven gas through pressure swing adsorption (PSA) technology and is delivered directly to the hydrogen refuelling station via pipeline, which is forecasted to cost only 30% of traditional tube trailer supply.
