The deployment of compressed natural gas (CNG) vehicles can help bridge the gap to hydrogen-powered mobility, a H2 View webinar has heard.
During the Lets Talk Hydrogen: Insights into Hydrogen Fuel Systems on Trucks & Buses webinar, Parker Hannifin’s Global Platform Manager, Steve Duricky, said there are several applications on a CNG vehicle that will be similar to a hydrogen electric application.
The filtration, fluid control and fluid conveyance for a CNG vehicle provide similarities to hydrogen-electric, including valves, regulators, hoses, fittings, tube assemblies and receptacles, which Parker Hannifin manufactures.
Durciky added that Parker is “well positioned for the technology transition.” He said, “We’ve been dealing with CNG and have all the [necessary] products available, which has allowed us the ability to develop similar products for hydrogen vehicles.
