H2 MOBILITY has announced its hydrogen station at the Shell filling station in Düren, Germany, has entered into normal operation.
The announcement ends the six month optimisation operations, with the station already accommodating for five Rurtalbus hydrogen buses refuelling at 350 bar and various cars and light commercial vehicles (LCVs) at 700 bar, including five vehicles from the Düren district.
H2 MOBILITY Deutschland was responsible for the construction and operation of the station, while Air Liquide provided the technology. The station is capable of storing more than 600kg of hydrogen and can be refuelling in two pressure levels at 700 bar and 350 bar at a total of 2 filling points.
The construction was funded by the Federal Ministry for Digital Affairs and Transport with a total of €1.37m ($1.49m) as part of the National Innovation Programme for Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Technology. The station is located on the A4 motorway, closing the supply gap between Cologne and Aachen.
