H-Tec Systems has chosen AEG Power to supply its package solution for a hydrogen production plant being built in Schleswig-Holstein, Germany by Energie des Nordens (EdN) today (June 2).
The project is looking to optimise local wind energy production by implementing an electrolyser that will use excess power to produce hydrogen as opposed to switching off the turbines.
The plant currently contributes to the supply of around 20,000 proWindgas customers of Greenpeace Energy and, with the implementation of the electrolyser, the renewable gas can be stored in the existing gas network or converted back into electricity.
