The AiP from Japanese classification society ClassNK, applies to what is described as a scalable containment system which can be adapted to any size of liquid hydrogen carrier without any major design modifications.
With the approval also being accompanied by a risk analysis from ClassNK, it will allow GTT to further develop the design to potentially see it take to the waters in the future.
