GreenWaste to trial hydrogen refuse truck supplied by Hyzon

GreenWaste will begin using a hydrogen fuel cell-powered refuse collections truck in North America supplied by Hyzon and New Way Trucks.

The trial will take place on selected routes throughout the Bay Area, including in the City of San Jose, County of Santa Clara and the towns of Atherton and Los Altos Hills.

Currently, the waste collection company’s fleet is powered by 100% renewable or alternative fuels. The vehicle is expected to support GreenWaste in reaching its 2030 goal to achieve a 45% reduction in total combined Scope 1 and Scope 2 greenhouse gas emissions from its 2022 baseline.
