ScottishPower Renewables, BOC and ITM Power have joined forces to establish new green hydrogen production facilities with clusters of refuelling stations across Scotland, in an effort to support the country’s goal of achieving net zero by 2045.
Under the title, Green Hydrogen for Scotland, the group will offer end-to-end market solutions to reduce vehicle emissions with the provision of green hydrogen, which will be available to organisations such as local authorities and others with heavy-duty vehicle fleets.
Lindsay McQuade, CEO of ScottishPower Renewables, said, “Making transport cleaner and greener is one of the key issues at the heart of how we can unlock net zero and achieve the ambitious climate change targets set out at both regional and national levels over the next 10-30 years.”
