Green hydrogen, although among the fastest growing clean energy technologies, is also one of the most vulnerable to bottlenecks, according to McKinsey & Company’s 2023 Global Energy Perspective.
The new report has said when bottlenecks are overcome, clean energy could account for up to 85% of global power generation by 2050 if commitments are achieved.
However, technologies such as wind and solar, electric vehicles, green hydrogen and heat pumps, despite being the technologies with the fastest expected growth are the ones most vulnerable to bottlenecks.
