W.L. Gore & Associates, a global leader in proton exchange membrane (PEM) technology, has achieved a significant impact on reducing the levelised cost of hydrogen (LCOH) compared to traditional market alternatives.

Gore’s whitepaper Minimizing LCOH with Advanced Proton Exchange Membranes hosted on H2 View, demonstrated superior LCOH results for Gore’s PEM technology across three case studies, when compared with traditional systems.

The company’s PEM technology was analysed in a nuclear-powered steel mill in France; a green hydrogen production facility powered by offshore wind in the North Sea; and a local hydrogen production hub in Spain powered by a photovoltaic system.
