General Motors (GM) has signed a joint development agreement with Autocar Industries to develop a range of heavy-duty vehicles, powered by GM’s hydrogen fuel cells.
Set to include cement mixers, dump trucks, road maintenance vehicles and tractor terminals, the range of Autocar vehicles will utilise GM’S Hydrotec fuel cells to deliver zero-emission operations.
The pair plan for the vehicles to enter production in 2026 at Autocar’s Alabama, US, plant – the vehicles with hydrogen technology will be built to order and sold directly to customers.
