The Great Lakes Clean Hydrogen Hub coalition (GLCH) has submitted a full application for the Department of Energy’s (DOE) Regional Clean Hydrogen Hub’s grant.
GLCH’s application includes a $2bn plan to develop a clean hydrogen hub to serve Ohio, Michigan and areas in Pennsylvania and Indiana. It will use carbon-free nuclear power to produce clean hydrogen and expects to achieve more than 100 MT of hydrogen per day.
The coalition is led by Linde, with support from Energy Harbor, Cleveland-Cliffs Inc, GE Aerospace, the University of Toledo and the Glass Manufacturing Industry Council.
