Hexla has deployed Levidian’s LOOP hydrogen production technology at Worthy Farm in the UK, the home of Glastonbury Festival.
The LOOP system is expected to save up to 25 tonnes of CO2 each year and produce low-carbon graphene which can be sold as an additive. The hydrogen produced will be used to generate electricity through the existing combined heat and power plant.
The farm currently produces power using an anaerobic digestion plant that turns tens of thousands of tonnes of cow slurry and waste silage into energy. Instead, LOOP will capture the carbon from the biomethane produced and turn it into graphene and clean hydrogen.
