Getech has signed an agreement with Leibniz Institute for Applied Geophysics (LIAG) to support the HyAfrica consortium.
The consortium is aiming to accelerate the exploration and development of natural hydrogen resources in Africa, also known as white and geological hydrogen.
The three-year project will discover viable natural hydrogen deposits in Morocco, Mozambique, South Africa and Togo while also assessing their economic and social impact, with the findings shaping strategic plans for harnessing hydrogen as a sustainable energy source.
Getech will contribute its “best-in-class” potential fields data, machine learning capabilities and geoscience expertise to support the consortium’s research efforts and will bolster the project’s ability to identify hydrogen resources.
