Germany will need to build over 9GW of clean hydrogen production capacity in little over five years to meet its 2030 targets, the Hydrogen Technology Expo Europe in Hamburg has heard.
The German Energy Agency’s (DENA) Laura Droste, told the event that despite recent momentum in the country, Germany currently holds just 0.3GW of hydrogen production capacity – with its 2030 10GW target looming.

“There’s still a lot of room for clarification and adjustment regarding the expected amount [of hydrogen],” Droste explained.
