Green hydrogen research in Germany is set to benefit from €300m more of funding by the Ministry of Education and Research.
Federal Minister of Education and Research Anja Karliczek made the announcement today, highlighting that €180m of ministry funds had already been allocated to such research in the coming years.
The new influx of funds comes after the government cabinet approved its draft legislative “climate package.”
“We will increase the intensity of our research into green hydrogen, that is, hydrogen produced by the sun and wind,” said Karliczek. “Green hydrogen is the energy carrier of the future and a key foundation needed for us to meet our climate goals.”
