German green hydrogen project receives funding

Germany’s largest green hydrogen mobility project has received financial support from GLS Bank, VR Bank Westküste eG and Nord-Ostsee Sparkasse.

Launched by the GP Joule Group, the project consists of an ‘eFarm’ which converts renewable energy from five wind farms into hydrogen. The hydrogen is then transported to two public refuelling stations in Husum and Niebüll.

The project will supply 100% green and regionally produced hydrogen to residents and companies who wish to use a hydrogen-powered vehicle.

Heat is also generated during the hydrogen production and is used in local heating networks, thereby supplying a local heat supply without the use of oil and natural gas.
