Lancaster-based GenHydro recently activated its first commercial scale reactor system, GH-1, to power businesses in Burle Industrial Park, Pennsylvania.
But CEO Eric Schraud and his team aren’t resting on their laurels. Speaking exclusively to H2 View, he said, “We have projects that are breaking ground in the middle of next year. We’ve been developing several projects and working with EPC contractors, and our first commercial project is going to be in the UK.”
GenHydro, 13 years in the making, converts aluminium scrap into hydrogen that is cost effective, scalable and distributes renewable clean energy, with oxidation and reduction at its core science.
“This happens with lithium ion batteries all the time, and we’re doing the same thing except with aluminium. We’ve chosen it as it’s highly ubiquitous, making up 8% of the earth’s crust, so it’s abundant, but renewable and rechargeable.”
