The “world’s largest and most efficient” ammonia-to-hydrogen conversion project has been launched by a consortium led by Gemserv.
In collaboration with the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero (DESNZ), the Ammogen consortium is aiming to deliver 200kg per day of hydrogen for transport.
Ammonia cracker and purification technology will be used to convert the ammonia to hydrogen during the initiative, worth £6.7m and supported through a competitive UK Government funding scheme.
