US-based Fuel Cell Energy is set to collaborate with Malaysia Marine and Heavy Engineering (MMHE) on the development of large-scale electrolyser facilities in Asia, New Zealand, and Australia.
Under a signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), the companies says the facilities are being designed to increase the efficiency and reduce the cost of green hydrogen production.
H2 View understands the production sites will leverage FuelCell Energy’s solid oxide technology, which the company says requires less energy input compared to low-temperature electrolysis, thus reducing production costs.
