Stellantis is set to unveil an Opel-branded fuel cell-powered Movano Hydrogen later this month as the French automotive major deepens its hydrogen mobility ambitions.
The fuel cell-powered van will be on show at the IAA Transportation in Hanover from September 12-22, and is expected to be capable of travelling up to 500km and can be refuelled in less than five minutes.
Its electric motor offers 110kW of power and is supported by an 11kWh lithium-ion battery which provides support when starting or accelerating, meaning the fuel cell can “always work under optimal operating conditions.”
The hydrogen tank is housed in a “space-saving manner” meaning the van makes no compromises in terms of everyday usability. Additionally, the hybrid system can recuperate braking energy and feed it into the battery as electricity via the electric motor.
