Fortescue’s back-track does not spell the end for Australian hydrogen: AHC CEO

Fortescue’s back-track on hydrogen does not spell the end of clean hydrogen for Australia, according to the Australian Hydrogen Council’s (AHC) CEO.

The announcement by the iron ore major, which has been incredibly vocal about the need for green hydrogen, has caused a significant stir across Australia’s industry and political sphere.

Having long touted a goal of producing 15 million tonnes of green hydrogen by 2030, compounded with loud critique of other industrial majors for not going far enough on Net Zero, the back-track would always face dismay and condemnation.
