Fortescue has secured €200m ($219m) of EU funding for its 300MW green hydrogen and ammonia plant in Norway.
Coming from the Innovation Fund, financed by revenues from the EU’s emissions trading scheme (ETS), the funding will be used for Fortescue’s Holmaneset project, west of Svelgen.
The project plans to utilise surplus renewable energy from the Norwegian transmission grid to power 300MW of green hydrogen and ammonia production.
