First Hydrogen plans UK parcel delivery trials with FCEV vans

Following successful initial fleet operator road trials, First Hydrogen has today (August 24) announced its hydrogen fuel cell-powered vans are planned to undertake operational trials with UK delivery companies in Q3 and Q4 2023.

Planned to go into operation with “several parcel delivery companies” in the second half of the year, it is hoped the trial will pave the way for parcel delivery fleets to introduce the technology, while also demonstrating the company’s hydrogen fuel cell systems.

Future last-mile delivery fleets will require a mix of battery electric vehicles and fuel cell electric vehicles (FCEVs) to overcome reliability and operational flexibility challenges as they look to meet customer demand, explained Steve Gill, CEO of First Hydrogen Automotive.
