Fidelis New Energy has revealed plans for a $2bn carbon-neutral hydrogen production facility and data centre campus in Mason County, West Virginia, US.
The Mountaineer GigaSystem™ and the Monarch Cloud Campus will see the implementation of Fidelis’ hydrogen production technology, FidelisHR® which enables the production of carbon-neutral hydrogen using natural gas, carbon capture, utilisation and storage (CCUS) and renewable energy.
With the first phase of the project expected to commence operations in 2028 producing over 500 tonnes of hydrogen per day, if all four phases of the Mountaineer GigaSystem do come into operation, Fidelis says around 10 million tonnes of carbon dioxide (CO2) will be permanently stored.
