The Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA) and Extreme E have today (August 31) announced plans for the “first” hydrogen off-road racing world championship – Extreme H.
Having signed a non-binding Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), the FIA and Extreme E have taken the first step in establishing a pathway for Extreme H to become an FIA Championship in its inaugural season in 2025.
It is intended that Extreme H will become an FIA World Championships from 2026, should criteria be met. Additionally, the pathway outlines that in 2024, Extreme E would be recognised an FIA Championships.
