For the development of its Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada, green hydrogen project, the Australian-based Fortescue Future Industries (FFI) has revealed it has signed an agreement to work with the Miawpukek First Nation (MFN).
The signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) comes as an important step for FFI’s Project Lynx, which is planned to be developed in and around the Stephenville, St. George’s and Channel-Port Aux Basques areas, which anticipates to see between 700,000 and 900,000 tonnes of green ammonia produced annually.
H2 View understands the MoU offers a framework to facilitate discussions and planning to evaluate the potential of hydrogen production in the region for export to Europe.
