Fendt has presented the first prototype of its hydrogen tractor at the German hydrogen summit.
The company is participating in the H2Agrar agricultural model project in Lower Saxony to research a hydrogen infrastructure for agricultural use.
The tractors will be incorporated with hydrogen fuel cells and Fendt will deliver its two first-generation prototypes to farms in Haren (Emsland) in April (2023).
The aim of the H2Agrar project is to research and establish an infrastructure for hydrogen for agriculture in the Emsland model region and develop prototypes of hydrogen-powered tractors that can be used on farms on a regular basis.
